We wanted to give spotlights on some of the cool new features of i.TV. Our developers have been working hard to create great new functionality, to make i.TV more stable, and to implement your suggestions. Enjoy!
WHAT'S HOT
Check out our new What's Hot tab. Get the latest entertainment news, recaps of your favorite shows, and more. Come back every day to see What's Hot.
INFO ICON
Under TV Listings, you will now see a small "i" icon on the time bar at the top of the screen. Tap on the bar and get the power of i.TV Display options. You can easily change your time, jump to Primetime (7:00 p.m.) or to your current time (as indicated on your device.)
- SORT: Sort your TV listings by Channel, Show Title, Genre, Content Rating, or Star Rating.
- CATEGORY: Select a Specific category. Whether you wish to only view upcoming movies, or sports, family movies or news, you can customize your display to suit your needs.
- REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES: And here comes the really fun stuff.... we've also added the ability to see only NEW content, or just see your Favorites. The Required Attributes are powerful, but make sure you don't combine too many because they search by (AND) rather than (OR). So, if you want to see ONLY NEW content that you have marked as a FAVORITE, AND that has Related Media Streams -- chances are you won't have many listings display. However, you can easily display content that has Related Media as a Required Attribute by tapping on that attribute. Your TV Listings for each 30 minute time slot will then only display content that has Related Media.
Required Attributes allows you to display HD, Closed Captioned, New, Favorites, listings with available Previews, Streaming Content, or Related Media.
BUMPER BARS
You may notice that the small "Display" button in your TV listings is no longer there. Now you can get your display options through the Info Icon at the top of your screen.
SHOW CARDS
See everything playing for the day on your favorite channel -- simply tap on the new Channel button on any show card. Once you have added a favorite channel, the channel button will go from Gray to Blue. Then in your listings view your favorite channels show up in Orange Text.
FAVORITE CHANNELS
Wahoo! You can select your favorite channels now. Simply tap on the "thumbs up" icon while in any show card on that channel, and it will be added to your favorites.
To view everything playing on a favorite channel - simply tap on the channel button on a show card. The default will display everything playing in the next 24 hours, but you can also choose to see what is playing now or in all of your listings for the next 7 days on that channel.
TiVo - RECORD TO DVR
Through a simple user interface on i.TV, broadband connected TiVo subscribers can easily link their i.TV account to their TiVo account. After setup, users can then browse i.TV to discover media and send remote recording instructions to a broadband connected TiVo DVR from wherever they are. Additional features include the capability to determine the frequency, quality and priority of a requested recording.
To set up your TiVo under More > Settings > Accounts > TiVo. Enter your TiVo account information and we will automatically link your account. Then tap on "Settings" at the top right of your screen to set your recording defaults. You do need to select a default DVR in this screen.
The TiVo functionality only works with Series 2 or Series 3 TiVo systems.
To Record a show - tap on the TiVo icon on a show card. Tap on the Record button and you will receive a "Recording Scheduled" message. You will also receive a confirmation email of the recording.
NOTE: If you try to record a program which has already begun, it will NOT record. You need to give TiVo time to schedule the recording.
WATCH BUTTON
In any show card by tapping on the Watch Button at the top of the screen, you will now see several options.
- Record on my TiVo DVR
- Locate in Netflix
- Email a Calendar appointment (the email reminder is only available to schedule through your computer, not through your iPhone calendar).
- You may also see options to watch the stream, preview or related media (if available.)
STREAMING VIDEO and RELATED MEDIA
i.TV now offers a selection of full-length television shows, television preview and movie trailers, fan videos and other related media--including YouTube videos. PLEASE NOTE: Some of you have been asking for "Live TV". We are offering "TV and Video Streams" but will not have "Live TV" where you can watch a TV show on your device at the same moment it is on television (unless it is an archived stream).
If a particular episode of a show is available to watch on your device, you will see a small blue play button on the show card as well as in the listing view. You may also see "episodes" in the Related Media bar, if there are other episodes available. (Please be patient as streaming and related media content will be initially limited. We are adding new content daily.)
The Related Media bar will appear in show cards that have related video content associated with a particular show, movie, or celebrity. You may see previews or trailers, full episodes, clips from a show, fan videos, or other bonus streams.
To suggest a video clip (from YouTube) for inclusion, simply tap on the Suggest button at the top of a related video screen, you will then be sent a form to fill out where you can suggest youtube videos for our editorial staff to review. Please make the suggestions as relevant as possible.
MOVIES / THEATERS
Now see movies that are coming soon. Tap on Movies > Coming (Sorted with closest release date at the top).
Sort your movie listings. Simply tap on the small "i" on the top right of your Movies screen and sort by release date, title, content rating or star rating.
Sort your theater listings. Tap on the Info button and sort by theater name or location.
MY MEDIA
We've added Favorite Channels to My Media. Easily see what is playing. View all shows in a specific genre, or in your Netflix queue. If you haven't used My Media, check it out.
NETFLIX
We want you to know that we are listening, and for those who do not have a Netflix account or do not wish to see Netflix results, you may now turn off this functionality. Simply go to More > Settings > Accounts > Netflix and then turn the On/Off toggle to Off. You're welcome. :)
STAR RATINGS
The 2.2 Software update from Apple made tapping on a specific area much more defined - and many users had difficulty giving shows a star rating. However, with this release we have made it easier - no longer do you need to drag your finger along the stars for a rating. Now, you simply tap on the specific star and everything will fill in up to the star you selected.
MORE
Your menu bar is now customizable. Search is located under the More tab at the bottom, but you can rearrange icons so they appear in the order you desire.
Tap on the More tab, then Edit in the top right of the screen. Then simply drag the icons down to the menu bar in the order you wish them to appear and tap on Done.
DATA
Our data partner has been working very hard to incorporate as many providers as possible. They have added hundreds of theaters, discovered incorrect channel lineups and made many more additions. However, if you still find missing or incorrect data, please let us know. Send your zip code, provider (ex: Comcast), and what information is not appearing correctly. We will make sure our data partner gets the information and they will work to get things fixed as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience in these matters.
AT&T U-VERSE is available in some areas. And our data partner is working directly with AT&T in order to bring these listings to the rest of our i.TV community.
SUGGESTIONS
We want you to know that your suggestions are greatly appreciated (especially if couched in nice terms and not calling us stupid). It is our goal to provide the best quality service for you and feedback is really important. We do appreciate your support for this free application and hope you'll bear with us as we continue to improve it.
If you have suggestions for DVRs you wish to have supported, or other functionality, please let us know. Send your ideas and suggestions to feedback@i.tv.

Star Ratings and Reviews
Q. I haven't been able to use the star ratings. What do I do?

However, with our 1.2 i.TV release we have made it easier - no longer do you need to drag your finger along the stars for a rating. Now, you simply tap on the specific star and everything will fill in up to the star you selected. It may take a little getting used to, but we hope the new implementation will make it easier to use the star ratings. If you have not yet upgraded to 1.2, you can get it through the iTunes app store.
Q. I wrote a review and it has disappeared?

Select "Genres" at the top of your screen, and then tap on genres you wish to hide from your listings. You may also hide specific channels, movies, or theaters this way. Q. Why do TV channels appear that are not in my current lineup? How do I hide them?
A. Many providers offer various television packages and some channels may not be in your current line-up. There are several ways to hide channels that do now appear in your TV line-up. If you scroll through your listings and see a channel you do not want in your listings, simply select the channel, then tap the "thumbs down" icon. You will see a message asking if you wish to "Hide Show" or "Hide Channel" - select "Hide Channel".

To hide a theater, select the theater, and then tap the thumbs down icon. Then choose "Hide Theater".
Q. In my TV listings, some of my channels are orange. Why?
A. Channels that appear orange are channels you have marked as a favorite.
Navigation and Display Options
Q. What are the Display Option "Required Attributes"" and how do they work?"
A. Required attributes give you the ability to display types of content that you wish, such as only displaying NEW content, or programs that have previews or shows that you have marked as a favorite.
Q. What is the "i" icon at the top of my TV listings screen?
A. The small "i" icon on the time bar at the top of the screen gives you the power of i.TV Display options. You can easily change your time, jump to Primetime (7:00 p.m.) or to your current time (as indicated on your device.) You can also do the following:
- SORT: Sort your TV listings by Channel, Show Title, Genre, Content Rating, or Star Rating.
- CATEGORY: Select a Specific category. Whether you wish to only view upcoming movies, or sports, family movies or news, you can customize your display to suit your needs.
- REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES: Identify the required attributes for displayed content.
Q. What happened to the display button in TV listings?
A. The display button in the TV listings was replaced by the "Information" button in the time bar near the top of the screen.
Q. Can I see upcoming movies that are not in theaters yet?
A. Yes. From the Movies icon, tapping the "Coming" button in the top grey bar will display upcoming movies and their release date.
Q. I've marked my display to show my favorites that are new and have streaming video, and I get no search results?
A. Because not all listings have streaming video available, trying to find new programs with streaming video may narrow your search enough that no programs match the criteria. If your search garners no results it is likely that there are no available new listings with streaming video.
Q. Can I sort my listings any other way besides by channel?
A. Yes, you may sort your listings by Channel, Title, Genre, Content Rating or Star Rating. In the TV Listings view, there is a small "i" button located on the top bar. Tap on the button and you will see the list of display options. You may choose to display only movies, sports, family programming, news or lifestyle programming. Or you can indicate required attributes including High Definition, Closed Captioned, New episodes, Favorites, or Programs with Previews, Streaming Video or Related Media available. These required attributes are selected with an (AND) search - so selecting 2 or 3 options will result in a smaller list of available programs. For example: You select Favorites, Related Videos - the resulting programs will display ONLY your favorite content that ALSO has related videos.
Q. How do I change my time?
A. In the TV Listings view, tap on the time display bar at the top of the screen. Then select "Pick a New Time". This will pull up a tumbler with the date and time. Simply select the time you wish to display and tap "OK". You may also swipe from right to left or left to right to move to the next/previous ½ hour of programming, or use the arrow buttons at the top of the screen.
Q. How can I see what is playing on my favorite channel for the upcoming week?
A. To see what is on one particular channel, tap on any program in that channel. Then tap on the small gray button underneath the show title. This will bring up the upcoming programs for that channel.
Missing Channels / Data / Providers
Q. Some channels or shows are not appearing in my listings.
A. Many things can effect what channels and shows display in your listings. First, make sure you have registered and that you set your age appropriately as this will affect what content you see in the listings view. The default settings are set to not display PPV channels, Music Only channels, Infomercials, and Adult content channels. The channels which are not displaying in your listings may belong to one of those categories. To view these channels, tap More at the bottom of the application. Then select Settings > Preferences > and then turn on the type of content you wish to see. To turn Adult channels on select Ratings Filter > Adult Content (ON). If you are still missing channels, please email us at data@i.tv with your zip code, provider and missing channel information and we will submit the information to our data partner for review.
Q. AT&T U-verse does not show up as a provider, is it going to be available?
A. AT&T U-VERSE is available in some areas. And our data partner is working directly with AT&T in order to bring these listings to the rest of our i.TV community. If you wish to select a different provider initially, you may at least be able to use the local listings display on the channels you actually receive and start using the other features including the theater/movie data.
Q. My provider is not showing up in my area.
A. Please send us your zip code and provider information to datat@i.tv and we will submit the information to our data partner and try to get it corrected as quickly as possible.
Q. Why don't I see any listings for TV or movies?
A. Your data may not be up-to-date. i.TV downloads 7 days of listings data to your device. If you shut down the application prior to the download completing your data will not have fully installed. To refresh your data, select More > Settings > TV Service and then select your service provider. Please be patient, as it may take several minutes for your data to download the first time.
Q. Why do I need to keep my application open while it's downloading data?
A. The media rich content provided in i.TV may take several minutes to download to your device. If you close your application, your data will not download completely and you will not see the TV or movie listings in your area. After your initial download and when the application is open your data will automatically update in the background.
Changing Location
Q. How do I change my zip code/location?
A. Select More > Settings > TV Service, and then tap on the "Zip Code" button at the top of your screen. You may then enter your new location. You may also use the GPS Locator button on the top right of your Theater listings screen. This will bring up a message asking if i.TV may use your location services or if you wish to enter a new zip code manually.
Non-English Listings
Q. How can I turn off non-English language TV shows?
A. If you wish to hide non-English programming, select More > Settings > Preferences >, and toggle "Non-English" to "Off".
Adult Content
Q. I don't want to see any adult content, how do I set ratings filters?
A. Select the More > Settings > Preferences > Ratings Filter. You may then indicate the content rating levels you wish to display.
Q. Could you adjust the ratings to include TV-MA? My favorite shows do not appear because the ratings only go to TV-14.
A. Once you set up your i.TV account and acknowledge that you are over 13 years of age, you will be able to adjust your ratings levels to your preferred settings. To set your age, go to More > Settings > Accounts > i.TV Account. You will see a toggle to indicate if you are 13 years old or older. If you are over 13, you should turn the toggle to ON. You may then adjust your rating settings by selecting Settings > Ratings Filter.
Q. I should have premium adult channels in my listings, why don't I see them?
A. Out of respect to minors and in accordance with Apple’s pornographic material restriction, i.TV has set the default preference for adult programming to OFF. However, if you are over 18, you may change your settings to display adult channels. Select More > Settings > Preferences > Ratings Filter. You may then indicate the level of content ratings you wish to display as well as set the Adult content switch to ON.
Q. Can I put a lock on adult content so children can use the application without having access to adult listings?
A. Yes. You can create a pass code that will not allow your ratings filters to change unless you enter the code. Tap on "More" (you may have to tap it several times to take you to the main menu. Select Settings > Preferences > Ratings Filter, and then set the content settings you wish to display. After your ratings have been selected, go back to the "Settings" menu, and select "Settings Lock". You will be prompted to choose a 4-digit pass code. Please make note of the code. We will not be able to remind you of the code you select.
