i.TV 2.0 available soon with integrated remote control from TiVo

We are happy to announce the i.TV Remote Control Framework and the coming launch of i.TV 2.0 in the iTunes Store. (i.TV 2.0 is currently under review by Apple and will be available soon.)

Remote Control: i.TV now brings together the TV guide and the remote control on your iPhone or iPod touch. The i.TV Remote Control Framework enables third parties to develop remote controls for televisions, DVRs, IR blasters and other home entertainment devices.

TiVo remote: TiVo is the first* to introduce a remote control for the i.TV platform. You can now change the channel, fast forward, record and most importantly play your favorite shows and movies with just a tap on your iPhone or iPod touch.

*While TiVo is the first to introduce a remote control on i.TV, more remote control integrations are in development and will be announced in the coming months.

New look: i.TV now has a simplified and remote-like user interface.

iTunes: From within i.TV, discover relevant TV, movie, music, podcast and audiobook content and then tap to download from iTunes.

Push notifications: Set pop up alerts to remind you when your favorite TV shows air. Never miss a show again.
