i.TV now with Comcast VoD info and AT&T U-verse listings

    By Justin Whittaker in Announcements

    Here is what’s new in i.TV 1.4:

    Just for Comcast customers:

Comcast Video on Demand Tab: i.TV introduces a dedicated Comcast menu tab, which gives Comcast subscribers access to rich information about Comcast video on demand (VoD) offerings, including top ten VoD lists updated by Comcast in real-time. If you don’t see the Comcast menu tab on the main screen you will find it under the More tab, where you can select EDIT and arrange your i.TV menu tabs as desired.

    AT&T U-verse:

AT&T U-verse Listings: FINALLY! Full AT&T Uverse listings now available for all coverage areas. Thanks to AT&T and our data provider to making these listings available.

    Other Features:

i.TV now twice as fast: i.TV startup time has been cut in half. Users are now able to jump between TV and movie listings, as well as dates and times with near instant data retrieval on your iPhone or iPod touch.

Interactive Ads: i.TV introduces the the world’s first “shakeable” ad. This limited release “Shake-down 2 Get Down” campaign from Dockers features Dufon, from the dance expressionist group “Circle of Fire.” When you see the ad pop up, just shake your device to make Dufon dance! This is the first of many fun interactive experiences i.TV users will have with our advertising partners.

This is the fifth update to i.TV and we hope that you’ll note the significant investment we have made to respond to your feedback and improve the app.

    Keep watching!

i.TV now with horizontal listings grid, movie theater maps and more

    By Justin Whittaker in Announcements

Version 1.3 of i.TV for the iPhone and iPod touch is finally here.

    Here’s what’s new:

Grid View: By simply turning your iPhone or iPod Touch from a vertical to a horizontal position, you can now view TV listings in a grid view.

    • View complete channel lineup for the next 3 hours
    • New shows indicated with red corner badge
    • Tap on a show listing to view a “micro-showcard” which includes an episode description, ratings, and an option to jump to the full showcard.
    • Tap on the “Info” button at the top of the grid to jump to pre-set time slices, i.e. prime time
    • Tap on the “Info” button at the top of the grid to navigate to “Options”. From here, you can choose to color code your grid according to categories such as Movies, Sports, Family, News, Lifestyle

Pretty neat, eh? We think so. But wait…there’s more:

Theater Maps & Directions:  Don’t buy a movie ticket online or via i.TV on your iPhone or iPod touch only to get lost on your way to the theater! Now you can get maps and directions to your theater of choice at the tap of a button. Use i.TV to plan your route ahead of time, get directions from your current location, or discover theaters closest to you. Still need more info? The new “call theater” option will help resolve any unanswered questions by connecting you directly with the theater.

Video Streams: In our previous update we added video streams for programs featuring clips, previews, and even full episodes. Over the last month we have been hard at work to bring you even more streaming video content to the application. Our database is updated daily so always be sure to check your on your favorite shows for new videos!

Video Available: We have made it easier for you to find shows with available video streams. To do this, simply tap the information button at the top of a listings view. This will bring up a menu that includes a button called “Options”. Tapping options will bring you to a screen called “Display Options”. Simply scroll down to the bottom of the screen and tap on “Video Available” as a required attribute. When you navigate back to a listings view, you will now only see shows with availble video streams.

Improved Performance: In this update, i.TV has taken extensive efforts to improve the performance and stability of the application.

i.TV at Macworld Expo 2009 in San Francisco

By Justin Whittaker in Announcements, Events

If you’re in San Francisco and attending Macworld Conference & Expo 2009.

come by and see us. We are exhibiting at the MacDeveloper Pavilion, booth 1438. We are actually right next to Apple’s booth, which until tomorrow morning when the show opens, is totally shrouded in black. Something tells me that Apple might have something to announce tomorrow…that’s just a guess though.

In any case, we are super excited to be exhibiting with other Mac developers at the Developer Pavilion. More than anything though, we are really looking forward to meeting those of you who have discovered the power of i.TV and are using the app on a regular basis to get media…your way.

Please come and see us and tell us in person what you like about the app and what you would like to see done differently. We also want to know your suggestions for what we should do in the future. We can’t wait to meet you!

If you can’t make it, I’ll try and cover the event from every angle on Twitter. In fact, if you come and visit us and want to be a “featured guest” on our Twitter feed, let me know and we’ll post a pic of you at our booth on Twitter…it’s the ultimate prize, right?

    See you at Macworld Expo!
