i.TV now with Comcast VoD info and AT&T U-verse listings

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

i.TV 1.4 now in the iTunes Store (link to press kit) — Comcast menu tab, AT&T U-verse listings, and a faster and more stable i.TV. Thanks for all the great feedback on Facebook and Twitter. Your input helps make each update to i.TV better and better.

Now, here is what’s new in i.TV 1.4:

Just for Comcast customers:

Comcast Video on Demand Tab: i.TV introduces a dedicated Comcast menu tab, which gives Comcast subscribers access to rich information about Comcast video on demand (VoD) offerings, including top ten VoD lists updated by Comcast in real-time. If you don’t see the Comcast menu tab on the main screen you will find it under the More tab, where you can select EDIT and arrange your i.TV menu tabs as desired.

AT&T U-verse:

AT&T U-verse Listings: FINALLY! Full AT&T Uverse listings now available for all coverage areas. Thanks to AT&T and our data provider to making these listings available.

Other Features:

i.TV now twice as fast: i.TV startup time has been cut in half. Users are now able to jump between TV and movie listings, as well as dates and times with near instant data retrieval on your iPhone or iPod touch.

Interactive Ads: i.TV introduces the the world’s first “shakeable” ad. This limited release “Shake-down 2 Get Down” campaign from Dockers features Dufon, from the dance expressionist group “Circle of Fire.” When you see the ad pop up, just shake your device to make Dufon dance! This is the first of many fun interactive experiences i.TV users will have with our advertising partners.

This is the fifth update to i.TV and we hope that you’ll note the significant investment we have made to respond to your feedback and improve the app. If you had previously reviewed the app on the iTunes Store and were unhappy, we hope that you’ll take a moment to and resubmit your i.TV review with a more positive rating.

Version 1.0 and 1.1 of i.TV to expire

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Well, we’re retiring a couple of numbers this week: versions 1.0 and 1.1 of i.TV.

As of today, versions 1.0 and 1.1 of i.TV will cease to function. For the vast majority of i.TV users, there will be no difference. The app will continue to work as usual. However, the small number of people who are still using i.TV versions 1.0 and 1.1 will now need to upgrade to version 1.2 of i.TV in order for the application to work.

With each new update to the application, it has become increasingly difficult to support multiple versions of the application. Please update to the latest version through the iTunes App Store.

Thanks for downloading and using i.TV!

i.TV at Macworld Expo 2009 in San Francisco

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

If you’re in San Francisco and attending Macworld Conference & Expo 2009, come by and see us. We are exhibiting at the Mac Developer Pavilion, booth 1438. We are actually right next to Apple’s booth, which until tomorrow morning when the show opens, is totally shrouded in black. Something tells me that Apple might have something to announce tomorrow…that’s just a guess though.

In any case, we are super excited to be exhibiting with other Mac developers at the Developer Pavilion. More than anything though, we are really looking forward to meeting those of you who have discovered the power of i.TV and are using the app on a regular basis to get media…your way.

Please come and see us and tell us in person what you like about the app and what you would like to see done differently. We also want to know your suggestions for what we should do in the future. We can’t wait to meet you!

If you can’t make it, I’ll try and cover the event from every angle on Twitter. In fact, if you come and visit us and want to be a “featured guest” on our Twitter feed, let me know and we’ll post a pic of you at our booth on Twitter…it’s the ultimate prize, right?

See you at Macworld Expo!

i.TV ranked among top iPhone apps for 2008

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Good news! i.TV was listed as one of the top apps in the iTunes App Store for 2008. In particular, we were listed as the #3 free entertainment application. Pretty good, considering that we only launched in October of this year.

Here is a link to the page on iTunes where you can see all the applications listed.

i.TV is #1 in the iTunes App Store!!!

Friday, October 10th, 2008

In case you didn’t know it already, i.TV made it to NUMBER ONE in the App Store last night! Thanks to all of you who have downloaded the app and have given us such great reviews.

Here is what some in the press and blogosphere are saying about i.TV (in order of appearance):

There are a lot of App Store submissions and works-in-progress that trigger anticipatory drooling here at TUAW…, among them the program guide and movie finder i.TV…Now you can download this free tool from the App Store and see for yourself what’s so exciting.

Michael Rose, TUAW

Yes, i.TV is a piece of software. But if i.TV was human, you’d want to invite it to a candlelit dinner, look into its eyes and say “you are so sexy.”

Scott Kleinberg–iPTIB, RedeyeChicago, Chicago Tribune

Your weekend needs a well-structured plan for backlit entertainments. And thankfully the value quotient is very high with…i.TV.
